Woman's body found under Pearl St. bridge
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have now identified the body of the woman found Sunday floating in a Springfield waterway. Police say the body of 46-year old Shakeerah Bayinah Turner was found floating in Hogans Creek at 365 3rd Street in Henry J. Klutho Park.
Neighbors say the body was found by someone driving a golf cart. They tell Action News they were shocked to see the crime scene unfold. Charles McCain lives just a few feet away from the Pearl Street bridge.
"My daughter was going to the house and she told me there was a bunch of cop cars out here," said Charles McCain, neighbor.
According to JSO JSO, the cause of death is still undetermined. However, they do say the victim's death is considered a homicide and foul play is suspected.
