JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- We asked you what you thought was the most dangerous intersection in our area. You said Beach and Hodges, so we set out to find out if that is true.
According to AAA, the section of Blanding Boulevard from Argyle Forest to I-295 is the most dangerous. Beach and Hodges did come in third, right behind Beach and Southside Boulevard.
Baymeadows and Southside came in fourth, and Atlantic and University rounded out the top five.
In 2009, there were 33,808 fatalities on our nation's roadways. About 20 percent of those happened at intersections. Crash numbers decreased in 2010 and 2011, but rose 5 percent in 2012,
What can you do? AAA recommends taking it back to the basics. Don't run red lights, buckle up, don't drive distracted, keep your eyes on the road, hands on the wheel at 4 and 8.
