JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two companies have submitted bids to run Jacksonville's water taxi service, Action News has learned. One company turned its bid in past the 2 p.m. Wednesday deadline.
About nine companies showed interest in running the water taxi during a pre-bid meeting last week, though not all the companies followed through with the bid.
The city will start reviewing the two bids on Thursday and hopes to have a recommendation as early as next week.
A short-term deal to start the water taxi up sooner is in the works, but there is no estimated start date for that yet.
