CCSO: Man arrested after claiming to have grenade

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) says parts of the 2100 block of College Drive between Jefferson and Old Jennings roads are closed due to a barricaded individual situation.

The CCSO SWAT team has taken James King into custody. King claimed to have a grenade.

The suspect is James King, a 39 year old Orange Park resident. King was arrested for aggravated assault in 2005.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office examined the device and found the grenade was fake. King will be charged with possession of a hoax explosive device, a second-degree felony.

King will be held in the Clay County Jail and have a first court appearance on Saturday morning.
