Officials: All four St. Augustine fires connected

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Investigators say all four fires in St. Augustine are connected. However, three of the four fires are ruled arson.

Capt. Bob Growick with the city of St. Augustine Fire Marshal's Office said the other three fires were started in the same way and that someone was igniting them in a hidden area.

The way Park Place started has not yet been determined.

Growick said his agency along with the state Fire Marshal's office, city police and fire, and federal agencies will meet to discuss a plan of action for Tuesday and put together all their information to move forward with the investigation.

"Were putting everything together to find out No. 1 direction," said Growick. "No. 2, find out the names we have so we can interview them and see whatever information we get from that so we can actually do some more interviews. That takes us to who actually started this fire."

The meeting is set for 9 a.m. at the police station and is not open to the public or the media.

Action News will have the latest developments from the meeting on CBS47 Action News at Noon.
