GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. - Two people are arrested in connection with the robbery of a convenience store with a hammer on Sunday.
A woman and man went into a Circle K on Community Road, a few blocks east of New Jesup Highway, with a hammer. The woman, identified by the Glynn County Police Department as 40-year-old Tabbatha Sturgill, reportedly hit the counter several times before jumping over the counter.
According to a GCPD news release, Sturgill pulled cash from the register and threw it across the counter.
The man, identified by police as 39-year-old Christopher Dowdy, threw a cigarette at the clerk who was attempting to call police, the report detailed.
The two left the scene in a black GMC pickup truck.
Officers saw a vehicle matching the description a couple blocks from the scene parked in a wooded area on Habersham Street. The report said tree branches covered the tailgate.
Officers approached the vehicle and took the suspects into custody. The report said officers recovered $200, the cash register and hammer.
Sturgill and Dowdy are both facing a charge of armed robbery.
