250 teens with special needs attend prom sponsored by Tim Tebow Foundation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville church held for a memorable night for 250 teens with special needs.

Night to Shine is a free prom for teens 16 and older sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

More than 500 volunteers signed up to make it a special night with music, food and fun for teens with developmental or physical impairments.

Christ’s Church on Greenland Road hosted the prom Friday.

It is one of more than 200 simultaneous Night to Shine prom events brought to 48 different states and eight countries by the foundation.

A total of more than 30,000 people with special needs dressed up in tuxes and prom gowns and more than 70,000 volunteers have signed up to make the events happen around the globe.

Christ’s Church laid the foundation for Night to Shine in Jacksonville when it hosted the inaugural event in 2014.

The event was adopted by The Tim Tebow Foundation as a model in 2015 for other churches around the globe.

Christ’s Church also hosted a special free reception with dinner for the families of the Jacksonville Night to Shine attendees.
