5-month-old twin girls among the four killed in Oceanway murder-suicide

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released the names of the victims in Friday's murder-suicide in Oceanway that left four people dead and one in critical condition.

Police say Gawain Rushane Wilson, 28, is believed to have been the shooter.

A report was released Saturday that says police believe Wilson shot and killed 5-month-old twin girls Hayden Rose Hiatt and Kayden Reese Hiatt; the girls' grandfather Travis James Hiatt, 49; and critically injured his girlfriend, Megan Hiatt, 22, before taking his own life inside the Oceanway home at 1342 Shirley Oaks Drive Friday afternoon.

Megan Hiatt sustained life-threatening injuries, according to police. A neighbor tells Action News Jax that Megan Hiatt needed three surgeries late Friday and early Saturday in order to save her life.

JSO director Mike Bruno said the incident appeared to have spawned from a domestic issue.

Police said they will continue to investigate this shooting and will release any new details as they are discovered.
