Accomplice of Baker County inmate who escape through trash, arrested

Baker County Sheriff's Office has made a new arrest in relation to the prisoner who escaped from the Baker County Detention Center by hiding in a trash carrier.

Gregory Allen Shedd, 43, of MacClenny turned himself in to Baker County detectives Nov. 21 around 7 p.m. for aiding the escape of Dakota Carter, 26.

Shedd was a food contract service employee who pushed Carter out of the detention facility in a trash cart, police say.

Carter was initially charged with armed burglary, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, meth, drug paraphernalia, grand theft and grand theft of a firearm.

Detectives say Shedd is being charged for introduction of contraband into a detention facility and aiding in an escape; a $100,000 bond has been assigned to each charge. ​
