Adopt a "Teacher's Pet" and celebrate back-to-school

The Jacksonville Humane Society and Animal Care and Protective Services are offering free adoptions today and tomorrow to celebrate back-to-school.

The adoption event will feature hundreds of pets at three locations around Jacksonville from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The three locations include:

“With summer ending and vacations over, this is a great time to add a furry friend to your family,” said JHS Executive Director Denise Deisler. “Shelters are still full due to kitten season and with help from our community, we hope to empty many of our kennels.”

Adoptions are free, although additional fees may apply.
