Amelia Island Steak House has high-priority health violations

This week no restaurants were shut down, but all three topping our list had issues with how they clean their dishes.

At Bob’s Steak and Chop House on Amelia Island, a health inspector issued a stop sale on seven items, including tomatoes and spinach because of temperature issues. Four containers of ranch dressing were expired, and the dish machine sanitizer was too weak to clean dishes.  A follow-up inspection is required.

At Mist Bar & Lounge in Orange Park, a health inspector counted 12 live flies in the kitchen, the dish machine sanitizer was too weak to clean properly, and the chicken wings on the counter should have been in the fridge since they weren’t being prepared or cooked. A follow-up inspection was done, and it met health requirements.

At Seafood Express & More on North Main Street in Jacksonville, a health inspector saw one live fly in the kitchen, the dish machine sanitizer was too weak to clean properly, and some of the utensils and equipment was not properly cleaned.

It met inspection requirements because most of the issues were fixed on the spot.
