A pair of attorneys is offering to cover cab fees in the Jacksonville area on New Year's Eve.
Submit a form online and attorneys Eddie and Chuck Farah will pay for your taxi ride home.
“If you look at the statistics, that was what got us involved,” said Eddie Farah.
Chuck Farah said between the crash statistics, and the local court cases, they’ve seen up close the people hurt by drinking and driving.
“Deaths and severe injuries involving drunk drivers,” said Chuck Farah.
All you have to do to get a free ride is go online and register.
“You can go to keepjaxsafe.org and download the promo code, and that code you can call any cab company, give it to them and they’ll take you home,” said Eddie Farah.
Cab companies from Daytona, St. Augustine and Jacksonville are participating.
Chuck Farah said a lot of times the decision to drink and drive simply comes down to money.
“Sometimes you have to determine whether I can afford an Uber or a cab so the demand is there, and we want to help people out who want to be safe but can’t afford it,” said Chuck Farah.
Farah and Farah said last year they helped get 750 people home safely and hope to help 1,000 people this year.
