Back to school: Mom hacks

Jacksonville Moms Blog Founders are sharing some mom hacks to get you and your family ready for back to school.

Hack 1: Scrambled egg cups

These three-ingredient egg cups take only 10 minutes to bake. Make some ahead of time so you can grab them and go on a hectic morning.

Hack 2: Do your scratch cooking on the weekends

No one has time to make scratch waffles on a Monday morning. If you do your complicated cooking on the weekends and make two extra servings to save for later, your kids can enjoy their favorite snacks during the week without you having to do the work.

Hack 3: Organize a snack basket

Put your kids in charge of packing their own snacks by organizing a snack basket. Fill a basket with healthier options and make it their job to grab one or two snacks that morning.

Hack 4: Make your own freezer packs

This hack is a money saver. Buy a pack of sponges from the dollar store and freeze them. Voila! A DIY school lunch freezer pack.

Hack 5: Pack an activity bag

Make sure your kid has everything they need for their extracurricular activities by packing an activity bag. Keep the bag in your car so you never forget it.

Hack 6: Pack a spare booster seat

If you have young kids, keep an extra booster seat in your car to bail out other moms in need. If your friend is ever running late you can safely pick their kids up from school.

Hack 7: Organize outfits on Sunday

Anything you can do over the weekend will save you time during the week. Picking out an outfit every morning can easily turn a normal morning into a late one. On Sunday, have you and your child lay out five outfits for the week. Make sure to check the weather so you can plan ahead.

Hack 8: Set up a backpack station

Have one area in your house designated for school supplies; that way, you never lose track of them.
