The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Friday night on the Northside.
Police say the boy was shot in the 1900 block of West 5th Street.
Officers were called to McMillan Street and College Circle South just before 8 p.m., where the boy walked to get help.
The boy was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are still investigating what led to the shooting, including talking with the boy as well as neighbors in the area who may have witnessed what happened.
