Bradford County Sheriff's Office investigating pedestrian hit by CSX train, police say

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — Emergency crews are currently investigating a pedestrian struck by a CSX train in the area of CR-125 at the railroad in Lawtey, the Bradford County Sheriff's Office said. The pedestrian has been pronounced dead.

In a statement CXS said:

"At approximately 11:16 a.m. today, a CSX train bound for Miami, FL struck a person on the tracks near the CR 125 crossing in Lawtey, FL. Bradford County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene and reported that the person was fatally injured. CSX extends its deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by this tragic incident. CSX appreciates the swift response by emergency responders and company officials are on scene to support local law enforcement as they investigate. Safety is CSX’s highest priority, and incidents like this reinforce the need for extra caution around railroad tracks."
