Bradford deputy credited with saving inmate's life

Bradford County Sheriff's Office Deputy Randy Thompson (right, standing with Sheriff Gordon Smith) is credited with saving the life of an inmate.

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. - A Bradford County Sheriff's Office deputy is being hailed as a hero after he saved an inmate from suicide.     

BCSO said on its Facebook page that Deputy Randy Thompson was working the night shift at the County Jail when he saw an inmate hanging by a makeshift noose.     

They said Thompson lept into action, getting the man down, performing CPR and saving him.  

The inmate made a full recovery.
