The Sheriff's Office said the two women pulled up to a house they were visiting when a car behind them began to shoot toward the house and their car.
The car, described as possibly a white, four-door sedan, left the scene heading west, according to police.
Both women were shot and taken to the hospital. One woman is listed in "very critical condition" and the other is stable, according to JSO. Police said the women are between the gaes of 20 and 30 years old.
Witnesses told JSO they heard about 30 to 40 rounds fired. Multiple shell casings were found on the ground but police do not know how many rounds were actually fired at this time.
The Sheriff's Office said it does not have any other suspect information at this time and it is unsure if there is any connection between the suspect(s) and victims.
