Casablanca on the Bay and Brett's Waterway Café temporarily closed by inspectors

Health inspectors closed three places, including two restaurants and a home care center’s kitchen.

When health inspectors went to Casablanca on the Bay in St. Augustine, they issued an emergency shut down. The inspectors issued it after noticing more than 25 rodent droppings in the kitchen and dead roaches. The health inspector issued a stop sale on Hollandaise sauce because of temperature issues. It was temporarily closed and reopened the next day after addressing the issues.

Brett’s Waterway Café in Fernandina Beach was temporarily shut down for having dozens of live roaches, dead roaches and temperature violations for multiple food items including chicken, shrimp and fish. Health inspectors encountered more pest control issues at the follow-up inspection. The café reopened after three inspections.

Health inspectors also visited Westside Christian Home Care in Jacksonville. An inspector saw 12 live roaches, dead roaches and noted that there was no hot water at the employee hand wash sink. It was temporarily shut down.
