UPDATE: Officials: 73-year-old pilot killed in Camp Blanding crash
Multiple Clay County agencies are responding to a deadly plane crash on Thursday near Camp Blanding.
Authorities notified the Federal Aviation Authority that a Mooney 20 aircraft went down at 3:15 p.m. near the property. Authorities said the pilot was the only one on board.
According to Flight Aware, a Mooney 20 Aircraft was registered out of Tennessee. The flight arrived in Ocala from Tennessee Thursday afternoon and was headed to Cecil Airport when it went down.
A map shows it turning around as it approached Jacksonville, and then going in all different directions, and then turning around again.
Just before 3 p.m., Flight Aware shows the plane went from 182 miles per hour at 2,900 feet to just 24 mph at the same altitude, right before the readings stopped.

Fire Rescue and the sheriff's office responded to the accident and are waiting for the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate the downed single-engine aircraft.
The National Transportation Safety Board is determining the probable cause of the crash.
