Clay County School District

Clay County schools will break ground on a new elementary school in the Oakleaf area on Thursday.

The new school located at 950 Oakleaf Plantation Parkway is expected to open for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Construction crews will break ground at the location Thursday at 10 a.m.

Clay County District Schools said the school will provide space for 868 students in grades kindergarten through sixth.

It will be built with state-of-the-art technology following the same layout and design of other elementary schools in the county.

The location of this elementary school will alleviate future overcrowding at nearby campuses, school officials said.
