Coast Guard Cutter Valiant to have change of command Friday

MAYPORT, Fla. — A local ship will soon have a new commander.

A change of command ceremony takes place Friday at Naval Station Mayport for the Coast Guard Cutter Valiant.    

Commander Adam A. Chamie will take over command from Commander Stephen V. Burdian.    

The Valiant's missions include law enforcement, search and rescue and security for ports, waterways and coasts.
