Community, family members lay to rest four Jacksonville violence victims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Community and family members said goodbye to four victims of Jacksonville gun violence Saturday.

Family and friends remembered Jerry Brown, an aspiring musician and minister gunned down in a drive-by shooting in front of his aunt’s home in Grand Park.

A funeral for Malcolm Davis, a local father who was shot and killed last week, was also held Saturday.

Davis was shot at the intersection of Stuart Avenue and West 31st Street, and later crashed into a fence.

Family and friends of George Ashley remembered him at a service at St Paul Missionary Baptist Church Saturday afternoon.

Ashley was a father who was gunned down with his girlfriend in front of their 6-month-old daughter last month.

The youngest victim laid to rest was 22-month-old Aiden McClendon. He died after he was shot three times in the back seat of a car with his mother and grandmother.

These victims were some of the 14 people who lost their lives to Jacksonville violence in January.

Mayor Lenny Curry and Sheriff Mike Williams have called for an end to the violence that has stunned the city.

Community advocacy group M.A.D.D.A.D.S. walked the street where Aiden was killed to try to encourage anyone with information to come forward.
