BOSTWICK, Fla. - A Putnam County man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
A warrant was issued after police say they got information that linked Ray Darnell Wilkinson to the sale of firearms.
Police say the firearms were stolen and linked to a recent home burglary.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office police were conducting surveillance of Wilkinson when they saw him leave a house in the Bostwick area and get in the passenger seat of a car.
Then, Wilkinson was pulled over in a felony traffic stop on Highway 17 North.
Sheriff’s office cars blocked southbound traffic on Highway 17 for about 15 minutes.
Wilkinson was interviewed by a detective and arrested. He is in the Putnam County Jail on $50,000 bond, and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
