JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — No restaurants were shut down during this week’s Restaurant Report, but some eateries had high-priority violations.
The Jacksonville Golf and Country Club on Hodges Boulevard is only open to dues-paying members. A health inspector issued a stop sale on three items including rice, bechamel sauce and risotto for temperature issues. The inspector also found expired pasta and grapes with a mold-like growth. It met inspection standards because all issues were fixed on the spot.
At Colonel Mustard’s Phat Burgers in Jacksonville Beach, a health inspector issued a stop sale on chicken for temperature issues, noted temperature issues with the mushrooms and found eight cold items including chicken, bison and hamburger meat too warm. A follow-up inspection is required.
Moe’s Southwest Grill on Applecross Road was visited by a health inspector. The inspector saw an employee enter the restaurant to start their shift and they jumped into food prep without washing their hands first. The health inspector also noted temperature issues with four items, including guacamole and salsa. Also the inspector saw an employee handled money and a pen with gloves on then return to food prep without changing gloves. A follow-up inspection is required.
