Country star Michael Ray arrested after rear-ending car in McDonald's drive-through

EUSTIS, Fla. — A rising country music star was arrested on suspicion that he rear-ended someone in a McDonald’s drive-through in Eustis while intoxicated early Wednesday, police said.

Michael Ray Roach, 29, was driving a 2012 orange Jeep in the drive-through of the fast-food restaurant at 2800 South Bay St. at 3:30 a.m. when he said his foot slipped off the pedal, causing him to rear-end the driver in front of him.

According to the arrest report, the officer said Roach, who performs under the name Michael Ray, had bloodshot eyes, slurred his speech, stumbled while walking and smelled of alcohol.

Roach also said he was coming from a bar in Tavares, the report says.

The officer who responded to the call said Roach failed field sobriety tests and refused the breathalyzer, the report says.

The officer also found THC oil in glass bottle in Roach’s pocket while placing him under arrest, the report says.

He faces charges of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana, jail records show.
