Husband, wife hit on motorcycles in Northside Jacksonville

Roads are closed near Main Street and Tisonia Road after crash involving multiple motorcycles left a man with part of his leg amputated Friday afternoon.

Three motorcyclists, two who were husband and wife, had been traveling together northbound on Highway 17 when a car traveling southbound crossed the center line and hit one of the motorcyclists, the Florida Highway patrol said.

One of the motorcyclists, the husband, had to get part of his leg amputated. The second motorcyclist had hit her husband and lost control of her motorcycle. The third motorcyclist was hit but not injured.

The first motorcyclists was taken to UF Health for minor injuries.
