A Clay County deputy was injured in a traffic crash Friday morning, authorities said.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office alerted the public about the crash at approximately 4:43 a.m.
The crash occurred on Highway 17 -- just south of Village Square Parkway.
“He was transported with non-life threatening injuries. FHP is working the traffic crash”, saidCCSO Public Information Officer Keith Smith.
A witness reported the cruiser ended up underneath a box truck.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
