Two animals were killed in two separate fires in Riverside on Friday night.
Firefighters were called to a fire in the 2000 block of Post Street at 7:39 p.m. No one was injured, but a dog was killed in that fire, authorities said.
It is not yet known how the fire on Post Street started.

Firefighters were called to the second fire in the 2500 block of Oak Street at 9:54 p.m.
Two floors were heavily damaged and a cat was killed in that fire, authorities said.
It is not known if the two fires are connected.
