Eco-friendly tiny house to be built in Jacksonville

Local groups are planning a first of its kind “Tiny House” in Jacksonville.

Eco Relics, in collaborative strategic partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council Florida Chapter and NORSK Tiny Houses, will be building a Tiny House and will be seeking certification as the very first LEED-certified Tiny House in the country.

The Tiny house will be energy and water efficient and even built with recycled materials.

“There is something about tiny houses. People love them. I think it’s, we don’t know, but it’s a combination of people being so busy being busy and they want to simplify their life and no one wants to pay their mortgage and they want to be able to focus on what’s really meaningful in their life,” Sarah Boren with the U.S Green Building Council Florida Chapter said.

The home is expected to be finished in November 2017 and will be taken across Florida to educate people on green living and eventually will be given to someone in need.
