Law enforcement in St. Johns County is preparing to lay a brother in blue to rest on Monday.
Deputies led the body of Officer Floyd East Jr, 48, to St. Augustine on Thursday where he will be buried at sea.

"It's very emotional, even just the escort from the airport was very emotional. Anytime you have an officer killed in the line of duty, you just think it could have been me," Officer Dee Brown of St. Augustine police said.

East was shot and killed by a Texas Tech University student while on duty last October.
The fallen officer's family told Action News Jax that St. Augustine embodies all the qualities he loved. East loved the pristine beaches and historic sites of the city.
