Famous Amos back on Restaurant Report

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — High-priority violations concern a health inspector in this week's Restaurant Report.

In the first round of inspections in the New Year, no restaurants were shut down. But there were plenty of high-priority violations.

Famous Amos on Normandy Boulevard is no stranger to the Restaurant Report. During its most recent health inspection, a health inspector issued a stop sale on stuffing, rice and turkey due to temperature issues. An inspector also saw two live flies in the kitchen and witnessed an employee who worked with raw then ready-to-eat food without washing their hands. A follow-up inspection is required.

At Country Cabin Orange Park, a health inspector measured the dish machine sanitizer as too weak to clean. The inspector saw an employee touch ready-to-eat food with their bare hands and saw an employee dry their hands on their clothes, apron or soiled towel after washing. A follow-up inspection is required.

A health inspector visited La NoPalera Mexican Restaurant on Crosshill Boulevard. The restaurant was just on the Restaurant Report in December 2016 and it's back on it again. During this inspection, the health inspector didn’t see any sanitizer or cleaning solution for the dishes, measured beef and chicken that were too warm and issued a stop sale on peppers and tomatoes with mold. A follow-up inspection is required.
