Father of pregnant Georgia woman held at gunpoint speaks out

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — The father of a pregnant woman who was held at gunpoint inside her home is speaking out.

“They had her at gunpoint. That’s my baby,” Morris Billings said. He thought his 25-year-old daughter, who is four months pregnant, was kidnapped after two masked men broke into her Bartow Street home and held her at gunpoint.

“She has just been terrified,” the father said.

The victim’s boyfriend came home and found things out of place and thrown around. He went to the back of the home, where he noticed a window was open and the screen was knocked out, but didn't locate his girlfriend, prompting him to call 911.

The open window is where Billings says his daughter was able to escape.

“She jumped out the window and went and laid in the neighbor’s yard for about 30 minutes," Billings said.

His daughter then ran about a block away to Billing’s house.

“She was just so shaken up,” he said.

According to a police report, several shots were fired inside the home. Police say a dresser drawer was open as if someone went through it. The box spring and mattress of the bed were flipped over.

“She ain’t been back there since,” Billings said, and she’s not going back, according to family. As Action News Jax talked to neighbors Friday, a relative came to collect her things.

In the meantime, this dad wants answers.

“You ain’t messin’ with my kids like that,” he says.“I’d like to know who it was."

Billings says his daughter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
