FDOT to look at many factors in examining Buckman Bridge safety

A truck is pulled from the St. Johns River after going over the Buckman Bridge.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Transportation is revealing exactly how it's moving forward to investigate possible safety issues on the Buckman Bridge.

It comes a week after a man was killed in a crash where his truck was pushed over the barrier.

FDOT tells Action News the review focuses on three main areas, including past crash data, speed limits and lane changes, and safety standards.

The agency is now waiting on the crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol before moving forward.
