A man has serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the 24-year-old man of Green Cove Springs was hit in the area of Blanding Boulevard at Witch Hazel Road just before 3 a.m.
According to the FHP report, the man was standing in the northbound travel lane of Blanding Boulevard and was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound.
After hitting the man, troopers said the vehicle fled the scene continuing northbound on Blanding Boulevard.
Based on evidence left at the scene, troopers believe the vehicle may be a blue pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet Silverado or a GMC Sierra.
The injured man was taken to Orange Park Medical Center.
Troopers have identified the man but have not been able to notify his family at this time.
