Victim identified in motorcycle crash


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Action News was first on the scene of a crash involving two motorcycles at 6233 Heckscher Drive Sunday around 9 p.m.

Two motorcycles were traveling southbound when the first tried to slow down around a curve, according to the Florida Highway Patrol news release. The second motorcycle tried to slow down, but rear-ended the first, the release said.

The motorcycles collided and went in to the guardrail, the release detailed.

A woman, who died, drove the first motorcycle. FHP has identified the victim as 52-year-old Mildred Foster. 

A man and woman were on the second motorcycle. They were transported to UF Health Jacksonville for treatment of minor injuries. 

All three people involved in the crash knew each other, according to officers at the scene.

No speed, alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, according to officers at the scene.

The eastbound and westbound lanes of Heckscher Drive were closed for a couple of hours.
