Firefighters battle early-morning Palatka house fire

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — Firefighters battled an early-morning house fire in Palatka Friday.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to the call just after 6:30 a.m.

The Palatka Fire and Police departments arrived at a home at the intersection of S. 14th and Oak streets, which they said was vacant at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, and the State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
