Firefighters helping animals rescued in Fort Caroline fire

Jacksonville firefighters helped animals Sunday that were rescued from a house fire in Fort Caroline.

Firefighters responded to a call about a house fire on Rifle Run Road and a dog was reported inside the home during the fire.

There was heavy smoke when rescue squads arrived on the scene.

The animals that were recovered from the fire were given oxygen by first responders.
