Flight to Jacksonville delayed more than 10 hours

A flight from New York to Jacksonville was delayed for more than 10 hours on Saturday.

Flight DL6241 was scheduled to depart from LaGuardia Airport at 9:30 a.m.

It left LaGuardia at 7:47 p.m. after a delay caused by air traffic and crew rest requirements, according to a Delta spokesperson.

Delta said the flight was operated by GoJet Airlines.

It was first delayed for at least an hour by crew rest requirements.

Then when the plane was on the runway, air traffic control initiated a flow control program and planes were rerouted.

Because of the reroute, the plane needed more fuel.

Customers got off the plane as it was refueled and the crew was given a new time slot for takeoff.

The flight is scheduled to arrive in Jacksonville at 9:44 p.m.
