VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - NASSAU COUNTY: Nassau County deputies investigating 3 reported clown sightings
An 11-year-old Volusia County boy told deputies he was nearly attacked by a man dressed as a clown.
The boy told deputies that on Friday the 13th, he was riding on Howland Boulevard near Pine Ridge High School when a clown jumped out from behind a light pole and some bushes.
He told deputies the clown tried to grab him, but the clown never made physical contact.
The victim said he thought the clown was going to hit him so he grabbed his selfie stick and struck the clown multiple times.
The boy told deputies the clown chased him for a short distance before falling and going back into the bushes.
The child went to school and told a school crossing about the incident.
A deputy drove the route and went to where the boy said he saw the clown, but didn’t see anything suspicious.
The boy described the clown as about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds with blue “clown hair,” a rainbow-painted face, a long-sleeved shirt, black pants and black boots.
