By law, three races are having to recounted.

The recount was off by an “extraordinarily small amount,” according to a canvassing board member.

The Duval County elections staff was hoping to finish the recount by Tuesday night, but the discrepancy means they’ll likely need to re-feed the ballots through the machines.

This only effected Election Day ballots.

The canvassing board will reconvene at 9 a.m. Wednesday to continue the recount, but the good news is they still have time before the Thursday deadline.

The canvassing board would not elaborate on how off the machine recount was.

About 317 provisional ballots were rechecked by the canvassing board Tuesday as well.

Military and overseas ballots are also trickling in and they will be counted and added to the final tally

The deadline for those ballots to arrive is this Friday.
