JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A former officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is accused of hitting a woman who was handcuffed.
The officer, Akinyemi A. Borisade, 26, was fired and faces a battery charge. He was on the force for about 13 months.
Action News Jax learned Borisade received a citation in December 2008 for petit theft in Duval County. He was 19 at the time.
The citation said Borisade tried leaving a store without paying for items. He was taken into custody without incident.
Borisade pleaded no contest to the citation.
