Former teacher sentenced on child sex charges

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A former elementary school teacher is going to prison.

A judge sentenced Kimberly Brody to one year in prison.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested Brody in January on a charge of unlawful intercourse with a minor.  Officers said they found her half naked in her car with a teenager.

Brody must undergo psychosexual counseling, pay for the victim's counseling expenses, obey a curfew, stay off the Internet, and submit to electronic monitoring.   She also can't live within 1,000 feet of a school or day care or work where children congregate.

Brody taught at W.E. Cherry Elementary school in Orange Park.
