Frequently Asked Questions: Jacksonville Beach pay-to-park stations

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Beachgoers in Jacksonville Beach will have to enter their license plate numbers and credit card information at pay stations in order to park beginning Friday.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department provided the following frequently asked questions to help get the information to the public:

(Q)  Hours of operation?
(A) Friday (8:00pm-2:00am)
Saturday (10:00am-2:00am)
Sunday (10:00am-12:00am) *If Holiday falls on Monday (10:00am-2:00am)
Holidays (10:00am-12:00am) 

(Q)  Which lots are affected?
(A) Latham Plaza Parking
Pier Parking Public lot at 422 1st Street North
Public lot at 450 2nd Street North

(Q)  How to pay for parking?
(A) Pay at parking kiosk located in the parking lots
Pay by phone app (coming soon)
Only accepts credit cards

(Q)  Do I have to pay if I arrive in the parking lot prior to the Paid Parking hours of operation?
(A)  Yes, as soon as Paid Parking begins for the day, all vehicles will be required to pay for any time after.

(Q)  How much will I have to pay to park during the hours of operation?
(A)  $3.00 for the first 2 hours $1.00 each additional hour $7.00 max per day $12.00 all day rate for holidays and some special events

(Q)  I'm a resident, do I have to pay to park?
(A)  Residents of Jacksonville Beach can register their vehicles through the City of Jacksonville Beach's website and park for free.  How to register your vehicle(s):

  • Click on this website - https://tinyurl.com/y9fztjsb
  • Enter your vehicle information – We will only accept vehicle tags that are registered with a Jacksonville Beach address.
  • It may take up to 14 business days after registration to be entered into our system.
  • If you choose not to register through our website, you can pick up a hard copy of the registration form in the front lobby of the police station.

(Q)  Handicap parking?
(A)  Disabled parking permits do not exempt someone from paying to park during hours of operation, unless the vehicle is modified in accordance with Florida State Statute  316.1964(8). We would like to stress to our visitors that there is free disabled parking available at every beach access parking area from 16th Avenue South to 16th Avenue North.
