Go-kart driver injured in hit-and-run accident

A go-cart driver was injured in a hit and run accident on Beach Boulevard.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Craig Andrews was injured as he was driving a go-kart in the westbound inside lane of Beach Boulevard at the intersection of Carmichael Avenue Saturday morning.
 
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Andrews was driving the go-kart without any lights.

A vehicle traveling in the same lane collided with Andrews and then fled the scene.
 
Officers tell Action News the vehicle, thought to be either a pick-up truck or an SUV, sustained damage to its undercarriage and one headlight.

Andrews has serious injuries and is at UF Health.
