LATEST: Tropical Storm Nate expected to make landfall as Cat. 1 hurricane
Gov. Rick Scott is warning families on the panhandle to be prepared for a possible hit by a hurricane as Tropical Storm Nate moves north.
Nate is forecast to be a Category 1 Hurricane as it approaches the United States early Sunday.
Scott said the emergency operations center has been activated as Nate moves north toward the Gulf of Mexico.
Scott says it’s hard to imagine experiencing another storm right now, but families should be prepared.

He is warning them to have a plan and disaster preparedness kit.
