Governor honoring local veterans in Jacksonville Monday

Fla. Gov. Rick Scott honors military veterans at special medal ceremony.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Gov. Rick Scott will be visiting Jacksonville Monday morning.

Scott will be hosting the Governor’s Veterans Service Award Ceremony.

The event will honor local veterans at the Maxwell C. Snyder Armory Headquarters, 146th ESB at 9900 Normandy Blvd.

The Florida Department of Veteran’ Affairs is inviting all veterans to attend the event.

The Governor’s Veterans Service Award is awarded to Floridians who served in the U.S. Military. The medal shows the Great Seal of the State of Florida and the back shows five seals that represent the five branches of the military. 

An inscription on the medal reads, “Honoring Those Who Served.”
