“I saw these dudes pull up in a black car, and a dude peeked his head out the window and just started shooting,” the 13-year-old said.
The teen said they were playing football on Lewis Street when two cars pulled up and someone started firing.
“They didn't say nothing. They just rode up and start shooting,” said the 13-year-old.
The boy said the other car drove away when bullets started flying. He said the men inside the black car were wearing masks.
"I see his daddy grab him and pick him up. I ran back to my house. At the time, I knew I had got hit, but I didn’t know I was bleeding. But when I got to the house, I looked at my leg and said, ‘Grandma, I got shot,’” he said. “When she looked at my leg, she was like, ‘Oh, my God, my baby got shot,’” the teen explained.

Both boys were taken to the hospital on Thursday night.
“I had pellets inside my legs, and then I got my legs wrapped up and cleaned,” said the 13-year-old.
JSO does not believe the boys were the intended targets of the shooting.
“Something needs to happen. Some kind of education on how to handle things other than gun play,” said the 13-year-old’s grandmother.
JSO Lt. Derek Boucher said it’s too early to tell whether more than one gun was fired at the boys.
“We are actually in the midst of pulling up resources together, other detectives from other units to go out and recanvass the area,” said Boucher.

A JSO spokesperson said there were multiple groups of people hanging out in the area when the shooting happened, but they all ran off before police got there.
Detectives have located surveillance images of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle is described as a black, late model Toyota Camry.
