Heydi Rivas-Villanueva: Fifth person arrested in 7-year-old’s murder

UPDATE Feb. 24, 2020, 1:55 p.m.: The tampering with evidence charge levied against Kezia Holmes in the murder of Heidy Rivas-Villanueva has been dropped, according to the Duval County Clerk of Court.

8:36 p.m. Wednesday:

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has announced that the fifth suspect sought in the murder of Heidy Rivas-Villanueva has been arrested.

Edward Garcia was arrested in the 6900 block of Morse Avenue according to JSO, and has been charged with accessory after the fact.

"The family just called - they're happy they are getting responsibility for the loss of Heidy and they just want justice for Heidy," said Yoselin Guerra, a family friend told Action News Jax.

Jacksonville officers have arrested a fourth person and are searching for a fifth in connection with 7-year-old Heydi Rivas Villanueva's murder.

JSO said Kezia Luckey Holmes has been arrested for tampering with evidence in connection with Heydi's death.

Officers are searching for 28-year-old Edward Robert Garcia. Police said he has an active warrant for accessory after the fact with a $250,000 bond.
