Homeowner safe after early-morning fire

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Clay County Firefighters battled a house fire in Middleburg early Friday morning.

Clay County Fire Rescue responded to the house fire about 1:15 a.m. on the 2900 block of Biloxi Trial, near Doctors Inlet Road and State Road 220.

The CCFR Chief said the homeowner was inside at the time and was able to get out safely.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly. CCFR Chief said, the cause of the fire is under investigation but it started in the bathroom and there was minimal water damage.
