JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville homeowner was jolted out of his sleep Saturday morning when a truck that may have been stolen plowed into his home.
The truck apparently ran off the road and through another yard before hitting the house on Post Street in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Jacksonville.
The homeowner says it stopped just a few feet away from where he was sleeping, and that two people ran away from the scene leaving behind blood and a gun.
He says police told him the truck was reported stolen in August and that a gun was found inside.
Neighbors say accidents are common in this area and speed is a factor.
Dwayne McDonald says he wasn’t home last Saturday when a driver failed to negotiate this sharp curve at the intersection of Post and Hamilton.
"It ended up going through the next door neighbor’s house, through the middle fence and then through my little front fence and then through my garage," McDonald said.
